Sangaree Baptist Mission grew out of First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner in October 1978. The work began with eight local residents of Sangaree meeting in their homes each Sunday.
In December 1979 First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner purchased the land on which the church would be built. Rev. Hal West Jr. served Berkeley Baptist Mission and Sangaree Baptist Mission as part-time pastor.
The mission began their first Sunday School in January 1979 with twelve in attendance. Reaching out to the community of Sangaree the mission grew and extended a call to Rev. Tommy Thompson Sr. to serve as their pastor in December 1981. Rev. Thompson continues to faithfully serves as pastor.
On June 27, 1982 the mission was constituted as Sangaree Baptist Church with the completion of their current sanctuary.
Pastor Tommy's vision for a community daycare became a reality in August 1985 with the addition of 1st - 3rd grades added in 1987.
It was the decision of the church to change the name to Sangaree Christian Fellowship in 2003.
